Monday night

The Hopkins Royals (#2) swept Minneapolis Southwest (#3) at Edina in the Section 6AAA semi-finals. The final score was 3-0 (25-18,25-18,25-16) margin 23.

In the next match Wayzata (#1) swept Robbinsdale Armstrong (#4) 3-0 (25-19,25-18,25-17) margin 21.

Friday night

Hopkins (#2) swept Orono (#7) Friday night at the Hopkins Lindbergh Center, 3-0 (25-18,25-15,25-14) margin 26. Live Stats

The Royals will now play Minneapolis Southwest (#3) on Monday afternoon at 5:30 pm at Edina High School.

Southwest beat Benilde-St. Margaret's (#6) in Fridays early match. Final score 3-0 (25-20,25-16,25-17) margin 22.

Craig Roberts from Benilde-St. Margaret's provided Live Stats on the Internet for both Friday night matches. I believe he is planning to do the same for the rest of the Section matches at Edina. Thanks Craig.

In the other side of the bracket, Wayzata (#1) swept Robbinsdale Cooper (#8) Friday at 7 pm. The score was 3-0 (25-12,25-10,25-9) margin 44.

Robbinsdale Armstrong (#4) beat Edina (#5) in five sets in the early match on Friday. 3-2 (25-11,25-19,20-25,19-25,15-11) margin 13.

So Wayzata (#1) will play Robbinsdale Armstrong (#4) in the 7 pm match at Edina on Monday.

The Royals led most of set 1 but then stalled and Andover beat them 23-25. Senior Ali Vossen went down with a ankle injury on the last play of set 1.

The Andover took an early lead in set 2, but the Royals had a great comeback, from 15-22 to lose 22-25.

The JV sent their match to 3 sets by winning a 31-29 marathon 2nd set after coming back from an 8 point deficit. They won the 3rd set, 15-13.

The varsity won in 3. Final score 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-15)

Thu Sep 3 7 PM- Hopkins @ Shakopee

Varsity lost to 2 time AAA State Champions Shakopee 0-3 (10-25, 13-25, 16-25).

I didn't hear how the B squad did, but I heard the JV lost, although their last set went to 29-27.

Wed Sep 2 7 PM- Hopkins vs Centennial @ Lindbergh Center
Hopkins varsity won in 5 sets
3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13)

The JV and B Squad both won their matches.

Kevin Anderson, who runs the website http://www.kjasr.com was at the Centennial game and featured it in his Out and About section.

He has lots of commentary, stats and 150 pictures.

Mon Aug 31 7 PM- Hopkins vs Andover @ Lindbergh Center

Andover won in 3, 0-3 (22-25,19-25,17-25)

This match was webcast live on http://foxpreps.com. (The first High School Volleyball match they ever covered.)

It is supposed to be viewable in their archives, but everytime I try to view it we hangs at about 1 minute into the file, just as the first serve is happening.
